Fundación de la Organización de Organizaciones de Fenomenología

La “Organización de las Organizaciones de Fenomenología” (“Organization of Phenomenological Organizations” – OPO), de carácter filosófico, fue establecida en Praga el 9 de noviembre de 2002 en la reunión de representantes de 59 organizaciones fenomenológicas de todo el mundo. La reunión tuvo lugar durante el congreso “Retos que enfrenta el mundo post-europeo” (“Issues Confronting the Post-European World”) dedicado al filósofo checo Jan Patocka (1907-1977).

La OPO está compuesta de centros, sociedades, archivos y grupos de trabajo que promueven la tradición fenomenológica y sus ramificaciones. La OPO tiene como meta alentar la comunicación y la cooperación entre filósofos alrededor del globo.

Las actividades de la OPO serán coordinadas por un Comité Ejecutivo que consta de cinco miembros, uno de cada una de las amplias regiones en las que existen organizaciones fenomenológicas: Asia-Pacífico (Chan-Fai CHEUNG), Europa Central y del Este (Ion COPOERU), Ibero-Latinoamérica (Julia IRIBARNE), Norteamérica (Lester EMBREE), Europa Occidental (Hans-Rainer SEPP).

A la reunión acudieron representantes de organizaciones en Alemania, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bielorrusia, Bélgica, Brasil, China, República Checa, Estados Unidos de América, Francia, Hong Kong, Hungría, India, Irlanda, Japón, Corea, Liechtenstein, Perú, Polonia, Portugal, Rumanía, Rusia, España, Eslovenia y Ucrania.

La reunión fue auspiciada por el “Centro de Investigación Avanzada en Fenomenología, Inc.” de Florida Atlantic University y el Centro para la Investigación Fenomenológica de la Universidad Carolingia y la Academia de las Ciencias de la República Checa, con el apoyo de la “Fundación Simons Vancouver, Canada”, el “Centro para los Estudios Teoréticos de Praga”, el “Instituto Filosófico de la Academia de las Ciencias de la República Checa”, el “Instituto Filosófico de la Universidad Carolingia de Praga” y el “Ministerio de Educación, Juventud y Deportes de la República Checa”.

El discurso inaugural, “Posibilidad y límites de la comprensión intercultural” fue presentado por el Prof. Klaus Held, de la Bergische Universität de Wuppertal, Alemania.

Inaugurada por Edmund Husserl (1859-1938) en 1900 y continuada especialmente por Nishida Kitaro, José Ortega y Gasset, Karl Jaspers, Ludwig Binswanger, Medard Boss, Max Scheler, Edith Stein, Roman Ingarden, Alfred Schutz, Aron Gurwitsch, Martin Heidegger, Simone de Beauvoir, Hannah Arendt, Gustav Špet, Jean-Paul Sartre, Maurice Merleau-Ponty, Theodore Celms, Enzo Paci, Hans-Georg Gadamer, Jan Patocka, Paul Ricoeur y Wilhelm Szilasi, la fenomenología es un enfoque preocupado por describir en términos particulares así como generales los múltiples modos en los cuales se tiene experiencia de las cosas. Esta tradición, que tiene ya un siglo de vida, es enormemente rica y compleja y se ve reflejada en todas las áreas de la filosofía, por ejemplo en estética, ética y filosofía de la ciencia, así como en múltiples otras disciplinas culturales. Nuevas áreas de investigación incluyen, por ejemplo, la ecología, la tecnología y las relaciones interculturales.

The organization shall be called “The Organization of Phenomenological Organizations”  (OPO). The OPO shall be a non-profit legal entity.

The OPO shall be composed of archives, centers, societies, working groups, and the like dedicated to phenomenology.

The OPO shall exist to foster communication and cooperation among phenomenologists around the globe.
The activities of the OPO shall be coordinated by an Executive Committee consisting of five members, one from each of the larger regions in which there are phenomenological organizations: Asia-Pacific, East and Central Europe, Iberian Latin-America, North America, and Western Europe.

The Executive Committee shall be responsible for

(a) maintaining a list of organizations that are dedicated to fostering phenomenology and that pay annual dues of 25USD/25 Euros, the funds being used for administrative expenses and toward sponsoring the next meeting, with all revenues and expenditures reported by the end of each calendar year to all member organizations;

(b) organizing the next meeting of the OPO in three years and in a different region; and

(c) nominating a new Executive Committee to the OPO at the next meeting with no more than two members continuing from the previous committee.

This Constitution was established on the basis of a unanimous vote of the representatives of fifty-nine (59) Organizations on November 9, 2002, in Prague, The Czech Republic.

The following persons were elected on the same occasion to form the first Executive Committee:

The permanent address of the OPO is: Centrum fenomenologických bádání,  Jilská 1, Praha 1, Czech Republic. Ivan Chvatík, Director of the Jan Patocka Archive, Prague is authorized to sign official documents on behalf of the OPO until it is decided otherwise by the committee.

After the periods of Modernity and Post-Modernity, the question of God is
of present interest. The works of Jean-Luc Marion attract the attention of
scholars in the fields of philosophy and theology. Marion's work
challenges established opinions in phenomenology, aesthetics, metaphysics, and
theology. This symposium will explore several of these areas in discussion
with Marion who will engage the speakers and the audience in conversations
about the presented lectures. The main concern of the symposium will be
the question of how to understand God's appearing after onto-theology and the
consequences of Marion's answers to this question for several fields of
investigation.

Sander van Maas (Musicology, Amsterdam), Rico Sneller (Theology and Ethics,
Leiden), Ruud Welten (Phenomenology, Utrecht) and Stijn van den Bossche
(Theology, Utrecht; Louvain)

The Symposium will start at 10.00 a.m. and will last until approximately
18.30. Attendants are recommended to register before 1 November 2002 by

Information about location, payment, and the itinerary will follow after
registration.

Admission  EUR 50,-

Dinner in the city of Utrecht will be served at 19:00. Registration is
obligatory before 1 November 2002.

The price of the dinner will be approximately: EUR 30,- (drinks not
included).
